Traffic information

Status of the bridge

Extensive road works 9/3-17/4 and 22/4-9/6

Road traffic will be restricted due to maintenance work from 9 March to 17 April and from 22 April to 9 June (break during Easter).

The work is being carried out at the crossing between Peberholm and the bridge, where an expansion joint will be replaced after almost 25 years of traffic. This is necessary to ensure the bridge remains safe and in good condition.

How traffic is affected:

  • Only one lane will be open in each direction, which may cause queues during rush hour.

  • Speed will be reduced.

  • Wide vehicles (over 3.75 metres) and heavy vehicles (over 100 tonnes) cannot cross the bridge.

  • Train traffic is not affected and runs as usual.

Follow the current traffic situation on www.oresundsbron.com and the Øresund Bridge app.

Øresundsbron will update this page with more information, when the traffic centre sees how traffic is flowing during the roadworks, so that customers can plan their journey at times with less traffic if possible.

The roadworks timetable is subject to change, but is always updated on this page.

We apologise for the inconvenience and thank you for your understanding.

Traffic on the Øresund Bridge

The Øresund Bridge is open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. However, special situations may arise due to wind and weather, maintenance or accidents, where we work with the authorities to close the bridge to traffic.

On this page you can always see the traffic status, whether there is a queue at the toll station and if there are any special places on the connection where you need to pay extra attention due to roadworks etc. We will also inform you when there are any disruptions in train traffic over the connection.

Skånetrafiken is in charge of train operations and you should contact them in case of train cancellations, delays etc.

Border control

The Swedish police perform border controls on the Øresund bridge towards Sweden and, in rare cases, towards Denmark. You must be able to show proof of identity.
