Train Disruptions on the Øresund Bridge
What is causing the train disruption?
During a routine inspection of the Øresund Bridge railway, deficiencies were identified that require reduced speed on the railway connection. Safety is the top priority for the Øresund Bridge, which is why trains are currently operating at reduced speeds – in both directions – while measures are being implemented to minimize disruptions. Train traffic is limited.
What is the Øresund Bridge doing about the problem?
Most of the deficiencies have already been addressed. The Øresund Bridge is now working to resolve the remaining issues as quickly as possible. The main focus is to restore normal train operations as soon as possible. In the meantime, the goal is to reduce the impact on traffic while the final issues are being resolved, for example, through solutions that can increase train speeds and thereby bring more trains back into operation across the bridge.
Is there an estimate for when train services will return to normal?
At the moment, there is unfortunately no reliable estimate. The Øresund Bridge aims to restore more normal capacity after the Easter holiday. Our traffic page will be updated when there is new information to share.
How are trains operating on the bridge right now?
The Øresund Bridge apologizes for the inconvenience and refers to skanetrafiken.se for up-to-date traffic information regarding train operations on the bridge.
How traffic will be affected during Broloppet 2025
Broloppet 2025 is one of the highlights of the 25th anniversary of the Øresund Bridge when 40,000 runners will run from Denmark to Sweden.
Øresundsbron advises against all unnecessary travel across the bridge between 06-17 on June 15. Train and road users are advised to travel at other times - and those who must drive to allow extra time for the journey across the bridge.
Trafikinfo BroloppetExtensive road works 9/3-17/4 and 22/4-9/6
Road traffic will be restricted due to maintenance work from 9 March to 17 April and from 22 April to 9 June (break during Easter).
The work is being carried out at the crossing between Peberholm and the bridge, where an expansion joint will be replaced after almost 25 years of traffic.

The Øresund Bridge is open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. However, special situations may arise due to wind and weather, maintenance or accidents, where we work with the authorities to close the bridge to traffic.
On this page you can always see the traffic status, whether there is a queue at the toll station and if there are any special places on the connection where you need to pay extra attention due to roadworks etc. We will also inform you when there are any disruptions in train traffic over the connection.
Skånetrafiken is in charge of train operations and you should contact them in case of train cancellations, delays etc.
Border control
The Swedish police perform border controls on the Øresund bridge towards Sweden and, in rare cases, towards Denmark. You must be able to show proof of identity.
